We are seeking to appoint some motivated and highly skilled Sports Therapists/Physiotherapists for paid pitchside work in Cambridge. The successful candidates will work within an established setting alongside graduate therapists so it is a great opportunity to learn and develop skills as well as network within the field.
The therapists will be expected to:
– attend rugby/hockey matches during school term time on Saturday afternoons and/or Wednesday afternoons and the occasional Tuesday afternoon (players will be U12 through to U18)
– communicate with the Head Sports Therapist after matches regarding injuries that have been dealt with
– be punctual and act in a professional way
– BSc or MSc in Sports Therapy or Physiotherapy (final year students will be considered if they have extensive pitchside experience)
– Current first aid/trauma management qualification
– Insurance with a relevant provider to practice these duties
– Good communication skills and reliable
– Previous work with academy players
– Pitchside experience in rugby/hockey

Another massive congratulations to Lucy Gossage for not only winning the Ironman 70.3 in Staffordshire today but also in creating the fundraising team ‘Team Lucy’ for the event to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Well done to everyone who was part of the team. Lucy, you are more than an incredible athlete, you are an inspiration to so many including ourselves.

It has been amazing to be a part of Cambridge University Athletics Club again this year; topped off with a win for the men’s and women’s blues teams yesterday in the 142nd Varsity Athletics Match in Oxford. Great to watch some incredible performances up close and help support some inspirational athletes. A big thank you to Tim and Claire for being ever-present this year with the team and playing a big part in their success!

We were delighted to support his previous marathon man challenge and cannot speak highly enough of his motivation, commitment and just generally being a top guy!
