Gaby completed her Physiotherapy qualification at the University of Nottingham with a first class honours degree and is currently finishing her Sports Medicine MSc at the University College London. She has been a certified member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) for over 2 years and regularly practices both western medical acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture. She has also helped support clinical research into the post-operative outcomes of hip arthroscopy and is starting new research regarding tendon health within elite athletes.
Gaby has a keen interest in treating athletes and has spent the majority of her career treating the elite from a variety of sports. After leading the medical department at Brighton and Hove Albion Women’s football team, she moved to working at the Boys’ Academy before leaving to work full time with the England Women’s National football development teams. In addition to this, Gaby has worked with semi-professional boxers, international cricketers and is now with British Gymnastics whilst working at F.A.S.T. Her interests lie in both acute management and the end stage rehab of complex sporting injuries, using a variety of techniques along the journey such as acupuncture, k-taping and specialised exercises.
Gaby was a footballer throughout her youth, representing both Cambridge and the 1st team at the University of Nottingham. She is now currently a keen crossfitter and is focused predominantly on strength training. However, with a ballot entered into the London marathon, there may be more cardio on next year’s plan!
