Everyday Active People

Whether you’re training for your first 5K, staying active around work and family, returning from injury or simply wanting to move better, you deserve the same quality of care as elite athletes. Your goals matter — and we’re here to help you reach them.

The Mental Side of Injury

Injury affects more than the body. Reduced activity, disrupted routines, frustration and fear of re‑injury can all slow progress. Our health psychology support helps you manage stress, improve sleep, rebuild confidence and stay motivated throughout your recovery.

Our Story

Fit Again Sports Therapy began with a simple belief: everyone deserves access to the same quality of care as elite athletes. Over the years, we’ve supported athletes who have gone on to set world records, win Paralympic and Commonwealth medals, and even receive New Year Honours for their achievements. Working with people performing at the highest level has shaped our approach — clear communication, evidence‑based rehab, and a commitment to doing the basics exceptionally well.

But our story has always been bigger than elite sport. We’re proud to be part of the Cambridge community, supporting everyday active people with everyday goals — from running their first 5K, to managing a demanding job, to simply wanting to move without pain. Whether you’re preparing for a major competition or trying to stay active around life’s pressures, you deserve the same level of support, attention and care.

Our Philosophy

Injury affects more than the body. It impacts confidence, sleep, motivation and identity — especially when being active is part of who you are. That’s why our approach blends sports therapy, physiotherapy‑informed rehab, strength and conditioning, and health psychology. We help you understand your injury, rebuild trust in your body, and stay motivated through the ups and downs of recovery.

We don’t just focus on what you can’t do. There are always areas you can train, adapt and strengthen — often helping you return fitter, more resilient and more confident than before. Whether you need targeted sports therapy, structured physiotherapy‑style rehabilitation, or hands‑on sports massage, our goal is to support your whole recovery, not just the injured area.

We believe in:

  • Clear, honest communication
  • Evidence‑based treatment and physiotherapy‑informed rehab
  • Progress you can see and feel
  • Support that adapts to your life
  • Affordable, accessible care without compromising quality
  • Making elite‑level treatment available to everyone

This philosophy guides every appointment, every rehab plan, and every conversation we have with the people who trust us with their recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Treatment & Conditions
What’s the difference between sports therapy and physiotherapy?

Sports Therapists and Physiotherapists both treat musculoskeletal injuries, but Sports Therapists specialise in active rehabilitation, exercise-based recovery, and sports-specific movement. Physiotherapists have broader training that includes neurological and respiratory care. At Fit Again, both roles work together to deliver evidence-based MSK treatment.

What conditions do you treat at Fit Again Sports Therapy?

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, including sports injuries, tendon issues, muscle strains, joint sprains, running-related injuries, post-operative rehab, and complex or long-standing cases. We also provide second opinions for patients seeking clarity or reassurance about their diagnosis or recovery plan.

You can explore our full list of conditions in the Injury Explorer section on this page.

Can I book an appointment even if I’m not an athlete?

Absolutely. Most of our patients are everyday people who want to move better, recover from injury, or stay active. You don’t need to be sporty — you just need to want to feel better.

Do you treat children or teenagers?

Yes. Having provided injury treatment for the Cambridge United Academy and The Leys School for many years, we assist a large number of young athletes and active children. We typically treat from age 12 upwards, with younger children assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Can you help if I’m recovering from surgery?

Yes — post-operative rehabilitation is one of our core strengths. We also have strong links with many orthopaedic surgeons, which helps ensure your rehab aligns perfectly with your surgical protocol and recovery goals.

Appointments & Logistics
Do I need a GP referral to book an appointment?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us, and if onward referral or imaging is appropriate, we’ll guide you through that process.

What happens during my first session?

Your first appointment includes a detailed assessment, movement testing, hands-on treatment where appropriate, and a clear explanation of what’s causing your symptoms. You’ll leave with a personalised plan and exercises tailored to your goals.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your injury, goals, and how long the issue has been present. Our general approach is to maximise the time outside of appointments and minimise clinic visits — but this is always tailored to your specific case. Your therapist will outline a clear plan from the start.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Shorts are ideal for lower-limb assessments, and a vest or sports top works well for shoulder or upper-body issues. All our clinics have changing facilities if you need them.

Do you have parking or bike racks at your clinics?

Yes — all our clinic locations have free parking and secure bike racks available for patients.

Rehab & Performance
Do you offer personalised rehabilitation programmes?

Yes. Every patient receives a tailored rehabilitation plan based on their assessment, goals, and sport or activity. We also have our own rehab video library — continually updated — which currently has over 195,000 views.

Can you help me return to running, gym training, or sport?

Definitely. We specialise in return-to-sport and return-to-performance rehab. Whether you’re training for an event, returning after injury, or rebuilding confidence, we’ll guide you through each stage safely.

Pricing & Insurance
Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes. Our Physiotherapist Faye Grace accepts health insurance cover from AXA Health, Aviva, and WPA (West Providence Association). If you’re unsure about your policy, it’s best to check with your provider directly.

How much does treatment cost?

We have three pricing levels based on therapist experience and qualifications. We pride ourselves on keeping our prices affordable considering the calibre of clinicians we have.

Careers, Students & Placements
Do you take placement students?

Yes — we are keen to support the development of future physiotherapy and sports therapy students. You can find full details and apply here:

Placement Opportunities

Due to prioritising university-level placements, we are currently unable to offer Year 10 work experience.

Do you hire new therapists or accept applications from qualified clinicians?

Yes — we are always looking for the right people to join our team. We are proud that the average time a member of staff has been with the clinic is over five years, and we focus on creating long-term roles that help you grow and develop as a therapist.
