About Fit Again | Expert Sports Therapy and Physiotherapy in Cambridge

Our Story

Fit Again Sports Therapy began with a simple belief: everyone deserves access to the same quality of care as elite athletes. Over the years, we’ve supported athletes who have gone on to set world records, win Paralympic and Commonwealth medals, and even receive New Year Honours for their achievements. Working with people performing at the highest level has shaped our approach — clear communication, evidence‑based rehab, and a commitment to doing the basics exceptionally well.

But our story has always been bigger than elite sport. We’re proud to be part of the Cambridge community, supporting everyday active people with everyday goals — from running their first 5K, to managing a demanding job, to simply wanting to move without pain. Whether you’re preparing for a major competition or trying to stay active around life’s pressures, you deserve the same level of support, attention and care.

Our Philosophy

Injury affects more than the body. It impacts confidence, sleep, motivation and identity — especially when being active is part of who you are. That’s why our approach blends sports therapy, physiotherapy‑informed rehab, strength and conditioning, and health psychology. We help you understand your injury, rebuild trust in your body, and stay motivated through the ups and downs of recovery.

We don’t just focus on what you can’t do. There are always areas you can train, adapt and strengthen — often helping you return fitter, more resilient and more confident than before. Whether you need targeted sports therapy, structured physiotherapy‑style rehabilitation, or hands‑on sports massage, our goal is to support your whole recovery, not just the injured area.

We believe in:

  • Clear, honest communication
  • Evidence‑based treatment and physiotherapy‑informed rehab
  • Progress you can see and feel
  • Support that adapts to your life
  • Affordable, accessible care without compromising quality
  • Making elite‑level treatment available to everyone

This philosophy guides every appointment, every rehab plan, and every conversation we have with the people who trust us with their recovery.

What we help with

How we support recovery, rehabilitation and performance

We do not just focus on symptoms. We help you understand the problem, identify the key drivers, and build a clear plan to return to sport, training, work and day-to-day life with confidence.

Sports injuries & performance rehab

From acute injuries to longer rehab blocks, we help active people return to training and competition with a structured, sport-specific plan.

Complex & long-standing injuries

For injuries that have not settled, keep recurring, or have not improved with previous treatment, we focus on clear assessment and practical next steps.

Post-operative rehabilitation

We support recovery after surgery with progressive rehabilitation, clear milestones, and close attention to strength, function and return-to-sport goals.

Running & overuse injuries

We regularly treat tendon pain, bone stress issues, recurring niggles and training-load related problems in runners and other active people.

Strength testing & return-to-sport planning

Rehabilitation should not end when pain settles. We use progressive loading, objective testing and clear criteria to guide return to higher-level activity.

Injury prevention & resilience building

Alongside recovery, we help patients improve strength, movement capacity and confidence to reduce repeat injury risk and stay active for longer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Treatment & Conditions
What’s the difference between sports therapy and physiotherapy?

Sports Therapists and Physiotherapists both treat musculoskeletal injuries, but their training pathways and areas of focus differ. Sports Therapists specialise in injury rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and return-to-sport planning, while Physiotherapists have broader training that can include neurological and respiratory care.

At Fit Again Sports Therapy, our team works collaboratively to deliver evidence-based MSK care. Our Senior Sports Therapists have completed an MSc in Sports & Exercise Medicine, combining advanced clinical knowledge with a strong focus on rehabilitation and performance.

What conditions do you treat at Fit Again Sports Therapy?

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries, including sports injuries, tendon pain, muscle strains, joint sprains, running-related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and complex or long-standing problems. We also provide second opinions for patients seeking more clarity or reassurance about their diagnosis, rehabilitation plan, or return-to-sport pathway.

You can explore our full range of injuries, body areas, and real patient reviews on our Injuries We Treat page.

Can I book an appointment even if I’m not an athlete?

Absolutely. Many of our patients are everyday active people who want to move better, recover from injury, or stay active with confidence. You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from treatment with us.

Do you treat children or teenagers?

Yes. Having supported the Cambridge United Academy and The Leys School for many years, we regularly help young athletes and active children. We typically treat from age 10 upwards, with younger children considered on a case-by-case basis.

Can you help if I’m recovering from surgery?

Yes — post-operative rehabilitation is one of our core strengths. We also have strong links with many orthopaedic surgeons, which helps ensure your rehab aligns with your surgical protocol and recovery goals.

Appointments & Logistics
Do I need a GP referral to book an appointment?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us, and if onward referral or imaging is appropriate, we’ll guide you through that process.

What happens during my first session?

Your first appointment includes a detailed assessment, movement testing, hands-on treatment where appropriate, and a clear explanation of what’s causing your symptoms. You’ll leave with a personalised plan and exercises tailored to your goals.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your injury, goals, and how long the issue has been present. Our general approach is to maximise the time outside of appointments and minimise clinic visits — but this is always tailored to your specific case. Your therapist will outline a clear plan from the start.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily. Shorts are ideal for lower-limb assessments, and a vest or sports top works well for shoulder or upper-body issues. All our clinics have changing facilities if you need them.

Do you have parking or bike racks at your clinics?

Yes — all our clinic locations have free parking and secure bike racks available for patients.

Rehab & Performance
Do you offer personalised rehabilitation programmes?

Yes. Every patient receives a tailored rehabilitation plan based on their assessment, goals, and sport or activity. We also have our own rehabilitation video library, which is continually updated and has now had over 195,000 views.

Can you help me return to running, gym training, or sport?

Definitely. We specialise in return-to-sport and return-to-performance rehabilitation. Whether you’re training for an event, returning after injury, or rebuilding confidence, we’ll guide you through each stage safely.

Pricing & Insurance
Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes. Our Physiotherapist Faye Grace accepts health insurance cover from AXA Health, Aviva, and WPA (West Providence Association). If you’re unsure about your policy, it’s best to check with your provider directly.

How much does treatment cost?

We have three pricing levels based on therapist experience and qualifications. We work hard to keep our pricing accessible while offering the calibre of clinicians, facilities, and expertise that patients receive at Fit Again Sports Therapy.

Careers, Students & Placements
Do you take placement students?

Yes — we are keen to support the development of future physiotherapy and sports therapy students. You can find full details and apply here:

Placement Opportunities

Due to prioritising university-level placements, we are currently unable to offer Year 10 work experience.

Do you hire new therapists or accept applications from qualified clinicians?

Yes — we are always looking for the right people to join our team. We are proud that the average time a member of staff has been with the clinic is over five years, and we focus on creating long-term roles that help you grow and develop as a therapist.
