Mikey Burroughs

In 2010, Mikey graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sport and Exercise Science from Loughborough University. He went on to complete an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of East Anglia in 2013. Mikey has a special interest in sports injuries with particular experience with shoulder, spinal and lower limb pathologies. He has held some esteemed positions within sport and is currently the Head of Medical at Cambridge United Football Club.

Experience

Mikey has huge experience in both the sporting and private sector. During the 2016/2017 season, he was the Head of Medical at London Scottish Rugby Football Club before moving to Cambridge United to head up the medical department for the past 3 seasons. He previously also worked with Cornish Pirates Rugby Club and Brentford and Norwich Football Clubs. As with all the other therapists at F.A.S.T., he constantly develops to use the latest research in his treatments and has helped to set up monthly professional development sessions with surgeons and specialists to collaborate ideas and learning.

Sport

His passion for sport continues, be it watching rugby, football or cricket. The 5 Peaks Challenge, Adidas Thunder Run and most recently, Tough Mudder are all events he has enjoyed training for! And when time and location permits, he also loves to ski, surf and cycle.
