Katrin graduated from Durham University with a BSc (Hons) in Natural Sciences, before pursuing a MSc in Health Psychology at Northumbria University. Whilst working as a Researcher at King’s College London, Katrin completed the Professional Doctorate in Health Psychology at Staffordshire University, giving her Chartered Psychologist status and allowing her to register with the Health and Care Professions Council.

She has worked in the field for over 13 years, helping people manage their physical and mental health, working clinically and academically and creating digital health programmes. She is the founder of boostme, combining her background in sport and health psychology to support athletes build strong foundations for mental and physical health. She is accredited by the British Psychological Society and Health Care Professions Council.

Experience

Katrin has previously spent time working at Northumbria NHS Trust, Milton Keynes NHS Trust, King’s College London and several small scale digital health start-ups.

Several digital health products Katrin has developed have been launched into the NHS or public sector, including a mental health programme for people living with long-term health conditions and an app supporting people experiencing gut issues. She has also worked clinically with people wanting to improve their overall health and those living with specific conditions, like inflammatory bowel disease and chronic pain.

Sport

Katrin grew up playing a lot of sport (including county cricket and England youth touch rugby) before focusing on basketball and playing semi-professionally for 15 years, going on to win multiple national titles. She then transitioned to HYROX and other hybrid fitness competitions. Results include a European silver medal (2024) in Mixed Doubles, Pro Solo win in Paris (2023) and World Championship win in Women’s Pro Age Group Doubles and World Record in the 2024 season. She has also completed an Ironman 140.6 in 2021 and recently qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in 2025.

All these experiences help Katrin understand the physical and mental commitment required to train consistently and compete at a high level, as well as understand the challenges that can come with trying to balance training, competing, work, life and health.
