Kyle Hawley

Kyle moved to the United Kingdom in 2022 having graduated from Northern Michigan University in 2009 with a BSc in Athletic Training and earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree 5 years later from Wayne State University. In 2020, Kyle became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. F.A.S.T. is excited for Kyle to join the team part-time, alongside his role as a physiotherapist for ‘Allied Health Professionals Suffolk’ working out of their clinics in Newmarket and Haverhill.

Experience

During his tenure at Northern Michigan University, Kyle worked in athletic training clinics, treating university athletes across a variety of sports teams including American football, basketball, volleyball, track and field, and ice hockey.

After graduating from his physical therapy program, he was initially employed as a licensed physical therapist with Athletico in the greater Chicago area. During this time, he shadowed different surgeons, observed orthopaedic surgeries, and treated multiple post-operative patients through the entire rehabilitation process. He also had the chance to work with high-level high school athletes bound for competitive university athletic programs.

Kyle moved to Washington, DC in 2017, where he worked for an outpatient musculoskeletal clinic through a regional hospital. There, he continued to perform pre-habilitation and post-operative rehabilitation for patients preparing or recovering from various procedures, right the way through to their full return to sport. He became a clinical instructor for students in their final rotation before graduation and a mentor assisting recent graduates with complex cases.

Sport

Kyle is an avid sports fan and participant, having grown up playing basketball, baseball, golf, track and field and ice hockey. He continued his basketball career into university, playing a year at Northern Michigan University. He also sculled with a former patient for a year to improve knowledge of the biomechanics of rowing. He continues to enjoy playing sand volleyball, alpine skiing, and golf.
