When injury interrupts performance

Four questions help shape your route back.

An injury should not automatically mean stopping everything. The aim is to protect what matters while preserving as much training as possible.

What can I keep doing?

Keep the training that is safe and useful, so you do not unnecessarily lose fitness, strength or momentum.

What needs to change?

Reduce or adapt what is aggravating the problem while the injured area settles and adapts.

What can I rebuild?

Restore the injured area while maintaining — and where possible improving — the rest of your capacity.

When am I ready?

Use strength, function, sport-specific tolerance and confidence — not simply time — to guide return.

Our home

Built into Cambridge sport.

Cambridge has plenty to shout about. Its sport deserves more of the spotlight too.

FAST has grown within this sporting community for more than a decade, and we are proud to support — and help share — some of the city’s sporting successes.

Across our three Cambridge clinics, rehabilitation can progress into gym-based work, track progression, objective strength testing and sport-specific return-to-play.

Cambridge United Football Stadium

Rich began working with Cambridge United in 2009 and the FAST stadium clinic opened in 2013. Our work has included every level of the club — men’s first team, academy and women’s team. For footballers and field-sport athletes, that experience helps us understand what returning to training and match demands really involves.

Cambridge University Athletics Track

Long-standing relationships with Cambridge University Athletics and Hare & Hounds sit alongside around 10 years of previous support for Cambridge University Hockey Club. When rehabilitation needs running progressions, the track is immediately available to move from clinic assessment into real running demands.

The Leys Sports Complex

FAST has provided the student sports injury service since 2013, including first aid, concussion screening, drop-in clinics, national finals and overseas tours. For patients whose rehabilitation needs more strength and capacity work, the sporting and gym environment allows appropriate progression beyond the treatment room.

The FAST principle

Elite-level expertise.
Intentionally not elite prices.

FAST could be positioned as a premium-priced service. We deliberately keep experienced sports injury and rehabilitation care accessible beyond professional and international sport.
